Review: Elf’s Flawless Finish Foundation in Buff

I love trying out new foundations, and in my last Elf haul I bought Elf’s Flawless Finish foundation to try out. I thought I’d review this foundation, as some of you wanted me to review the products I purchased. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical when ordering this foundation, after trying Elf’s tinted moisturizer which I hated! But this foundation was such a suprise.

Elf’s Flawless Finish Foundation is a full coverage foundation. I only needed one pump for my entire face and using a concealer to cover my blemishes was not needed, this foundation covered everything! I have combination skin, and I tend to get oily in my T-zone area. Since this foundation is oil-free it gave my face a matte and flawless finish, just how I prefer my face to be. I didn’t need to touch up my makeup throughout the day with powder etc.

Due to it’s full coverage, the foundation has a very thick texture, which can be a problem for some. This also makes it hard to blend in to the skin. ( By adding lotion to the foundation will make the texture slightly lighter. This, however, will make the foundation have less coverage) I didn’t experience the texture nor the blend ability as a problem. Since this foundation is oil-free and has a thick texture, I wouldn’t recommend this foundation to people with dry skin. The Flawless Finish Foundation is more suitable for combination to oily skin.

This foundation is scented, which I didn’t like. But after applying it to my face, the scent disappeared. Another thing that I didn’t like about this foundation, was the colour. I’m a MAC NC44 girl and this foundation is in the shade Buff, which is to light for me now during summer. So adding a darker powder/bronzer to match my skintone was definitely needed.

The price for the Flawless Finish Foundation only retails for £6 on Elf’s website, which is a really affordable price for this amazing foundation. All in all, I would definitely recommend this foundation, if you want a foundation that will give you a full coverage and a great finish!

Pros: Full coverage, inexpenisve, flawless finish, oil-free, SPF 15

Cons: The texture, scented, hard to blend

Would I repurchase this foundation? YES!

Have you tried this foundation?

      1. 🙂 I know I didn’t know what to do either! 🙂 Click back to the link on my blog for the Liebster Blog Award post and copy, paste, and follow the instructions. 🙂

  1. omg ive been wondering if this foundation was any good! Im an NC42 and have combination/oily skin so the color you selected is probably my match! Great review!

  2. I was skeptical when I purchased this foundation as well but I was pleasantly surprised! It applies great for me with a stippling brush. The thickness doesn’t seem to be an issue that way!

    1. I use a stipple brush to apply the foundation too, it gives such a flawless finish doesn’t it? Have you tried any other elf foundations?

      1. I haven’t. I want to try their mineral personal blend foundation. But it’s a powder so I am hesitant. I feel like I get the best coverage with liquid.

  3. I use many of the ELF products. I agree with you about the tinted moisturizer. I have the foundation and what I do is add a small dot of my favorite Gariner Pore Perfect Matte Mositurizer. Check out my make up drawer post to see my other ELF products.
