DIY - Do It Yourself · Other

I tried out a super easy DIY exfoliating lip scrub today, that I wanted to share with you guys. I get extreamly dry lips when the weather changes and you can only imagine how annoying it is having dry lips when you want to wear your fave matte lip colour..

This DIY lip scrub exfoliates the lips, gets rid of all dead and crusty skin and smoothes your lips to perfection. You will only need TWO ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen cabinet: sugar & coconut oil.

Step one
Add one teaspoon of brown or white sugar into a small bowl. I wanted a gentle peeler, so I went for white sugar. However, brown sugar is better if you have super dry lips.

Step twoIMG_9605
Add one teaspoon of virgin coconut oil, to add moisture to the lips.

Mix the ingredients into a bowl with a spoon.  Gently start rubbing the mixture into your lips for a few seconds. Then, wipe away the scrub and rinse with water.

Step four
The final step is to apply a moisturising lip balm to your smooth lips.  This is to keep the lips moistured and to prepare the lips for your matte lipstick.  I love the EOS Organic lip balm, because of all the natural oils and vitamines in it. Strawberry Sorbet is my fave!

If you have dry lips like myself you’ll love this simple DIY with all natural ingredients. My lips feel so moisturised and smooth. I’m sure you can use the scrub on other dry areas on your body such as your elbows, dry hands and feet.
